Roles at a glance
Organization and location roles, the presets you pick from, and a few examples of who can do what.
Everyone on your team holds one or more roles. A role is a set of permissions, and it applies either to the whole organization or only to the locations you choose. Exactly what each role allows: Roles.
Organization roles
An organization role applies everywhere: every location, menu and setting.
| Role | Usually for |
|---|---|
| Owner | Whoever owns the business. The role is never given in an invitation: the owner hands it over with Transfer ownership. |
| Admin | A partner or an operations director |
| Content manager | Whoever owns the menus |
| Content editor | Someone who helps edit the menus |
| Marketing | Whoever runs the look of your guest menu, promotions and ad pixels |
| Finance | Your accountant |
| Viewer | An investor or a consultant who only looks |
Location roles
A location role applies only at the locations it is given for. A regional manager, for example, holds one role at several venues.
| Role | Usually for |
|---|---|
| Location manager | Whoever runs the venue |
| Shift lead | Whoever runs a shift |
| Floor staff | Waiters and hosts |
| Kitchen | The kitchen |
Someone who holds only location roles sees only their locations: other venues don't appear for them anywhere in the dashboard. Someone with an organization role sees every location.
Roles add up. A person with an organization role and a location role can do, at that location, everything either role allows.
