Choose your languages and currencies
Set the languages your menus can be translated into and the currencies your prices are kept in, and which of each is the default.
SettingsLocalization lists your organization's languages and currencies. Every location and every menu picks from these two lists: a location can offer its guests fewer of them, never others — see Change a location's settings.
Who can do this: Owner and Admin
- Add language adds a language.
- Set default makes a language or a currency the default.
- Remove takes it off the list.
- Add currency adds a currency.
Add a language
Open Localization
Open SettingsLocalization.
Pick the language
Under Content languages, click Add language, type a few letters of its name and pick it.
Save
Select Save changes.
Your menus can now be translated into it. Until you translate a text, guests reading that language see it in the default language — see Translate a menu.
Your plan sets how many languages your organization can have — see Limits and usage. At the limit, Add language is switched off and the section says how many your plan includes. To add more, buy the extra languages add-on or move to a bigger plan — see Subscribe or change your plan.
Add a currency
Under Currencies, click Add currency, pick the currency and save. No plan limits how many currencies you have.
Each dish then gets a price field in the new currency: fill it in before a location shows its prices in that currency — see Prices in several currencies.
Change the default
Click Set default next to a language or a currency, then save. The default is marked Default.
- The default language is the one your menus open in for a guest who has not picked another, and the one shown for any text not translated yet.
- The default currency is the one your locations show prices in, unless a location picks another.
Remove a language or a currency
Click Remove next to it, then save.
- The default can't be removed: make another one the default first. The last language and the last currency can't be removed either.
- A language or a currency that a location or a menu still uses in its own settings can't be removed: saving is refused. Take it off there first.
- Your translations and prices in it are kept. Add it back, and they return.
