A page or a button is missing
Something you expect in the dashboard isn't there, is greyed out or is refused: the organization you are in, your role, your plan, a limit or the subscription.
On this page
The dashboard shows each person only what they can use, so the same page can look different for two people of one team. Go through the causes below in order.
You are in another organization
If you belong to several organizations, the one you are working in is named at the top of the sidebar. Click its name to switch — see The sidebar.
Your role doesn't allow it
Your roles decide what you see and do. Without the permission:
- A page is left out of the sidebar. Orders, Reservations, Analytics, Activity, Team and Billing appear only for roles that may open them. ⌘K search leaves them out too.
- A form is shown but greyed out, with a line such as You don't have permission to change these settings.
- A button is missing, or the action is refused with Your role does not allow this action.
- Other locations don't appear. Someone who holds only location roles sees only the locations those roles are given for.
To see your roles, ask someone who manages the team, or open Team if you can. Exactly what each role allows: Roles and what they allow. A role is changed by:
Who can do this: Owner and Admin, and at their location: Location manager
They change it as described in Give someone different roles.
Your plan doesn't include it
- Orders and Reservations are left out of the sidebar while the plan doesn't include them.
- Guest ordering: On Pro and Ultimate.
- Table reservations: On Pro and Ultimate, or with the Table reservations add-on.
- Elsewhere, a card with a lock takes the place of the feature's controls. It names the plan that includes it and has a button to see the plans.
What each plan includes: Plans. To change it: Subscribe or change your plan.
You have reached a limit
At a limit, the page where you add that kind of thing shows how many you use out of how many, and its add button is switched off. An addition past the limit is refused with This would go over your plan's limit. Free up room or upgrade, then try again. See Limits and usage for how to get more room.
The subscription has ended
For a while after a subscription ends, the whole dashboard is read-only, with a banner at the top. Changes are refused with The subscription has lapsed, so the workspace is read-only. Renew it to make changes. See After the subscription ends.
Your email address isn't confirmed
Publishing a menu, sending or accepting an invitation, switching on guest ordering or reservations and connecting an ad pixel wait until you confirm your address. They are refused with Confirm your email address first: open the link we sent you, then try again. See Confirm your email address.
The setting follows the organization
On a location's Settings and Ordering tabs, a setting marked Inherited shows the organization's value and can't be edited there. Switch it to Overridden to give this location its own value — see Inheritance and overrides.
The menu can't be changed right now
- The status list offers nothing while the menu has unsaved changes: save or discard them first — see Change a menu's status.
- The builder is read-only, saying This menu is archived, so it is read-only. Restore it to a draft to edit it. Restore the menu to a draft — see Archive and restore.
