Schedule a menu at a location

Serve a menu at one location on hours of its own, around the clock, or as the menu itself says, and switch the default menu at a set moment.

A menu can have serving hours of its own, set on the menu and followed everywhere — see Schedule, pause and archive a menu. A location can serve it differently: breakfast until 11:30 at one venue and until noon at another, or a menu that is always on at the airport. The location can also switch its default menu on a date you choose.

Every plan

Who can do this: Owner, Admin, Content manager, and Content editor, and at their location: Location manager

Before you start

  • The menu is assigned to the location — see Choose the menus a location serves.
  • The location has its time zone, under Region & clock on its Details tab. Hours are read on the venue's clock, wherever you are.

Set the hours at this location

  1. Open the menu's schedule

On the location's Menus tab, click the clock next to the menu.

  2. Choose how it is served here

Under Hours at this location, pick one:

    • Same as the menu: the menu's own serving hours. A menu without hours is always served.
    • Always served here: around the clock at this location, whatever the menu's hours say.
    • Own hours here: hours for this location only. They start from the menu's own hours; switch days on or off and change the times.
    1. Hours at this location: how the menu is served at this location.
    2. Make default later: the moment the menu becomes this location's default.
  3. Apply

Click Apply. On the Menus tab the schedule is saved at once; on the Details tab it is saved with the rest of the form.

The menu's row now says Own hours here or Always served here. To go back to the menu's own hours, open the clock again and pick Same as the menu.

Make a menu the default later

For a menu that is not the default yet, open the same window, and under Make default later enter the date and time in Becomes default on and click Apply. At that moment the menu becomes the one the location's QR code opens; until then, its row shows the date. Enter the time on your own clock; to cancel the switch, click Clear, then Apply.

The switch happens only if the menu is published and shown at the location by then; otherwise it is skipped. Scheduling it also needs the right to publish menus:

What guests see

Outside its hours, a menu still opens, with This menu isn't being served right now at the top and, unless it is the default, a link to View the current menu. Guests cannot order from it until it is served again; your staff can still add its dishes to a table's order.

When the venue page lists every menu, each card shows today's hours at this location and Serving now or Not now — see The venue page.

Without the plan

On a plan without it, the clock opens a card with the plans that include it. A schedule set before keeps working until you take it off: Remove schedule removes it, and removing never needs the plan.
