Add your dishes, publish the menu, print its QR code and scan it — the shortest path from an empty dashboard to a menu on a guest's phone.

Four things stand between you and a menu guests can open: your dishes, a published menu, a location that serves it, and a printed QR code. This page walks through them in order, with a link to the full guide at each step.

Who can do this: Owner, Admin, and Content manager, and at their location: Location manager

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open your menu

Open Menus and pick the menu the wizard made, or start one with New menu — see Create a menu.

  2. Add your dishes

In a category, New item creates a dish with its name, description, photo and price; Add item from catalog places a dish you already have. Replace or remove the starter dishes you don't sell. When the builder shows Save changes, press it. Groups, categories and moving dishes around: Build a menu.

  3. Publish the menu

A draft menu goes live from the status button next to its name: choose Publish now. A menu that is already published needs no extra step — your saved changes reach guests as its next version. Approvals, publishing at a set time and how soon guests see a change: Publish a menu.

  4. Check that your location serves it

Open the location from Locations and look at its Menus tab. The menu should be listed there; the default one is the menu the location's QR code opens. The wizard set this up for its menu. If your menu is missing, add it on this tab — see Choose the menus a location serves.

  5. Print the QR code

Open QR codes. Each location lists its links — its Location page and each menu it serves — with a code for each. Download a code as PNG, or Print it. Size, contrast and where to put it: Print and place your QR codes.

  6. Scan it

Point your phone's camera at the printed code and open the link it shows. You see the menu exactly as a guest will.

Keep it current

The code you printed keeps working. Change a dish, a price or the whole menu, and guests see the new version after you save and publish — nothing to reprint. Next, find your way around the dashboard.
