Send email receipts

A guest who leaves an email address gets a receipt once their bill is paid; how staff add an address, resend a receipt and what the receipt shows.

A guest who leaves an email address gets a receipt by email as soon as their bill is paid. Guests give the address themselves on their phone; your staff can also type it in when a guest asks at the table. Receipts come with guest ordering: On Pro and Ultimate.

Who can do this: Owner and Admin, and at their location: Location manager, Shift lead, and Floor staff

Where the address comes from

A guest can leave their address:

  • on the order page, before sending the order;
  • on their bill, at any time during the visit;
  • on an order's status page.

The receipt goes to one address per guest's bill, and is sent once the bill is paid — at once if it already is. Until a receipt has gone out, the guest can change the address; after that, they can't send it elsewhere, and asking again within 15 minutes sends nothing new.

Add an address for a guest

When a guest asks you for a receipt:

  1. Open the guest's bill

    Open Orders, then Tables, select the table and find the guest's bill.

  2. Enter the address

    Select E-mail receipt, type the address in Guest's e-mail address and select Save address.

  1. Guest's e-mail address.
  2. Save address: the receipt goes out once the bill is paid.

You can also type the address while recording the payment, in E-mail receipt (optional) — see Take payment at the venue.

Follow a receipt

The guest's bill, and the details of each order on it, show where the receipt stands, with the address partly hidden:

StatusWhat it means
requestedThe guest left an address; the receipt goes out once the bill is paid.
sentThe receipt went out, at the time shown.

Resend a receipt

If a guest says the receipt never arrived, open the order from its ticket on the board with Details and select Resend receipt. It goes to the same address again — at once if the bill is paid, otherwise as soon as it is. A finished ticket stays on the board for 30 minutes; orders in History open read-only.

What the receipt shows

  • The venue's name and address, and the table — or that the order was picked up.
  • Each order with its number and time, and its dishes. Dishes staff took off are left out.
  • The subtotal, the service fee and VAT, the VAT the total includes, the tip and the total.
  • How the bill was paid, and the line "This is not a fiscal receipt."

On a joint bill, the paying guest's receipt lists everyone's orders under each guest's number. A guest whose bill someone else paid gets a receipt of their own part, if they left an address, saying which guest paid.

The receipt is written in the language the guest ordered in, with times on the venue's clock. It arrives from your location's name followed by "via TableQR", and a guest who replies writes to the location's email address.

The guest's address

An address is used for the receipt and nothing else. It is erased after 30 days; the bill keeps only the fact that a receipt was asked for.
