Error messages in the dashboard

What each error message in the dashboard means and what to do about it, and the reference to send to support when a page won't load.

Updated Oct 14, 2026
On this page

When something fails, the dashboard says what failed and why, in your language. This page lists those messages by area, with what to do about each.

Where errors appear

  • A notice names what failed — that the settings couldn't be saved, say — with a sentence under it saying why. Most of those sentences are in Messages on any page.
  • A box in place of part of a page says what couldn't be loaded, and offers a button to try again. When our server answered, the box also shows Reference: followed by a code.
  • A message inside a form or a dialog points at what to change there, such as a table label already in use.

The reference for support

The code after Reference: identifies the one request that failed, so support can find exactly what happened. Try again first. If the box comes back, copy the code into your message to support, with the page you were on — see What to include.

A notice carries no reference. Tell support the page, what you did and when, with your time zone.
