Schedule, pause and archive a menu
Serve a menu only at set hours or dates, give a category hours of its own, and pause, archive or restore a menu.
On this page
A published menu is served whenever the venue's guest menu is open. You can narrow that down: a breakfast menu only in the morning, a lunch menu on weekdays, a summer menu until September. A category can have hours of its own inside a menu, and a menu you no longer serve can be paused or archived.
Serve a menu at set hours
Every plan.
Who can do this: Owner, Admin, Content manager, and Content editor
Open the schedule
On the menu's page, open the Schedule tab.
Set the hours
Switch on Serve only at set times. Switch on the days the menu is served and set the times; Add hours adds a second time range to a day, and Copy to every day repeats a day's hours on every day.
Save
Click Save schedule. On a published menu the new hours apply at once.
- Serve only at set times: off, the menu is served whenever the venue's guest menu is open.
- Availability window: when a seasonal or event menu starts and ends.
- Save schedule saves the hours and the window together.
Times are each venue's local time, so one schedule works at every location that serves the menu. Outside these hours the venue page still lists the menu, its card marked Not now; a link to it says when it is served, and guests cannot order from it. A location can also serve a menu at hours of its own — see Schedule a menu at a location.
Serve a menu between two dates
In Availability window on the same tab, set Available from, Available until or both, and save. These dates are on your own clock. Leave a field empty for no start or no end. The window and the weekly hours work together: the menu is served on its hours, between those dates.
If your plan no longer includes scheduling, a menu keeps the schedule it has, and the tab offers a button to remove it.
Give a category its own hours
Every plan. Inside a menu, a category can be served at hours of its own — breakfast dishes until 11:00, a lunch set on weekdays.
Who can do this: Owner, Admin, Content manager, and Content editor
Open the category's hours
On the menu's Structure tab, click the clock on the category's row.
Choose when it is served
With On a schedule picked, switch on the days the category is served and set the times, then click Apply. The clock now shows the hours. Always takes them off again.
Save the menu
Click Save changes: like every change in the builder, the hours wait for the menu's save.
The hours apply in this menu only, on each venue's clock. Outside them guests still see the category's dishes, with the time they come back, but cannot order them. A dish that is also in a category being served right now stays orderable.
Pause a menu
Who can do this: Owner, Admin, and Content manager
Click the status of a published menu and choose Pause. Guests can no longer open the menu until you publish it again with Publish now. You can keep editing it meanwhile; guests see your changes once it is published again.
Archive and restore
Who can do this: Owner, Admin, and Content manager
Archive a menu you no longer serve but want to keep: click its status and choose Archive. An archived menu:
- is not shown to guests;
- is no longer the default menu of any location, so no QR code opens it — pick another default on the location's Menus tab;
- loses a publication you had scheduled for it;
- is read-only.
To bring it back, choose Restore. The menu becomes a draft you can edit, and guests see it again once you publish it. To remove a menu for good, delete it.
