Set up your first venue
The setup wizard takes you from the kind of place you run to a published menu with its QR code, then to your plan; your free trial starts with the organization.
The setup wizard builds your organization, your first location and a starter menu, publishes the menu and hands you its QR code. It opens from Start free trial on our website, and after you sign up without an organization.
Before you start
- Nothing to prepare: you can create your account inside the wizard — see Create your account.
- The venue's address is optional, and everything you enter can be changed later in the dashboard.
The steps
Pick your kind of venue
Venue type: choose Coffee shop, Restaurant, Bakery & pastry or Bar & drinks, and the wizard loads a starter menu that fits. Prefer to build your own? Choose Start from a blank menu instead.
Create the organization
Organization: enter the Organization name — your business, which will own all your venues. The Organization URL follows the name and becomes part of your guest menu and QR code links. Under Region settings, check the Country, Currency, Languages and Default language the wizard guessed from where you are.
Not signed in yet? The sign-up form is right below; once you have an account, the wizard creates the organization by itself. Signed in already, you press Create organization.
Add your first location
Location: give the venue a Location name, and add its Address and City if you like. Skip for now still creates the location, with its name only.
Make the starter menu yours
Menu: the starter menu appears, with photos, sizes, sample prices, allergens and dietary tags. Open a dish to change it, or add your own with New item. A blank menu starts empty instead. On a wide screen, the guest preview beside the menu shows what guests will see. When it looks right, press Publish & continue.
Scan your live menu
Go live: Your QR menu is live shows a QR code that opens your venue's page, and your menu from there. Scan it with your phone's camera to see it as a guest does. Download saves the code as an image, and Print tent prints it as a table card.
Choose your plan
Plan: pick a plan, the Billing interval and any add-ons. Start my free trial carries on with your free trial on that plan; Subscribe now instead subscribes right away. Either way, you land on your organization's overview page.
Your free trial
The trial starts the moment the organization is created, so the location, the menu and the QR code you make in the wizard are covered by it. What the trial includes and what happens when it ends: The free trial.
Each account gets one free trial. If yours is already used — on an organization you created earlier — the wizard says so on the organization step and asks you to choose a plan right after it, before the location and the menu: Choose a plan to continue.
If something stops you
- The menu won't publish. Publishing waits for a confirmed email address. Open the link we sent you, then press Publish & continue again — see Confirm your email address.
- You closed the tab. The wizard remembers your progress for an hour, so reopening it picks up where you were. After that, what you created stays: open the dashboard and carry on from the overview page.
- You want to go back. Back returns to the previous step. Once the organization exists, its step only shows it: change the name later in the organization's settings.
