A location serves menus you make once for the whole organization: it shows them, it never copies them. One menu can be served at every location, and each location decides which of your menus it serves — see Locations, menus and the catalogue.

Who can do this: Owner, Admin, Content manager, and Content editor, and at their location: Location manager

Before you start

The menu exists. Guests see a menu only once it is published; its status shows under its name on the location's Menus tab.

Assign a menu

  1. Open the location's menus

Open the location and its Menus tab.

    1. Assign menu adds one of your menus.
    2. Set as default makes a menu the default.
    3. Enabled shows or hides the menu at this location.
    4. The clock sets when the menu is served here.
    5. The cross unlinks the menu from this location.
  2. Pick the menu

Click Assign menu and choose a menu from the list; type to search it. Archived menus are not offered.

The menu is served at once. Every change on this tab applies as you make it, with no save button. The same list is on the Details tab and in the form for a new location; there, changes wait for the form's save button.

The default menu

The default menu, marked Default, is the one the location's QR code opens, and its table codes too. The first menu you assign becomes the default. To change it, click Set as default on another menu: the previous default stays served beside it.

A default menu is always shown, so its Enabled switch is locked on. To switch the default at a set moment, schedule it — see Schedule a menu at a location.

Hide a menu at one location

Turn off Enabled to stop serving a menu here while keeping it assigned, ready to turn back on. Other locations that serve it are not affected. A guest who opens the hidden menu's link sees This menu is unavailable with a way to the default menu.

To stop serving a menu here for good, unlink it with the cross. The menu itself stays, with its dishes and at every other location. If you unlink the default menu, make another one the default.

Turning a menu's Enabled switch on, or making it the default, needs a price for every dish in each currency the location uses. If one is missing, the change is refused — add the price, or narrow the location's currencies on its Settings tab.

One button or a card per menu

On the venue page, guests reach your menus in one of two ways, set by List every menu on the venue page at the bottom of the Details tab:

  • Off: one View the menu button, to the default menu.
  • On: a card per menu, with its cover, today's serving hours and whether it is served right now. With only one menu shown, the page keeps the single button.

See the result on The venue page.

The menu switcher

When a location serves more than one menu, the guest menu names the menu on screen under the venue's name. Tapping it lists the location's other menus, so a guest moves from dinner to drinks without going back.

The switcher lists every menu shown at the location, in the same order as its Menus tab. It does not appear when the location serves a single menu.
