Change a location's settings

Give one location its own languages, currencies, design, fonts, taxes and guest options, and go back to the organization's at any time.

On this page

A location starts with the organization's settings and follows them as they change. On its Settings tab, you can let it answer for itself, one setting at a time. A menu can do the same wherever it is served, and a menu's setting wins over a location's — see Inheritance and overrides.

Who can do this: Owner and Admin, and at their location: Location manager

Override a setting

  1. Open the location's settings

Open the location and its Settings tab. Each setting shows whether it is Inherited and, if so, the organization's value it follows.

    1. Inherited or Overridden: who answers for this setting.
    2. Reset to inherited goes back to the organization's value.
    3. Save settings saves every change on the tab.
  2. Override the setting

Click Overridden next to the setting. It starts from the organization's value; change it.

  3. Save

Click Save settings, or Discard changes to drop what you changed.

To follow the organization again, click Reset to inherited under the setting and save.

What a location can change

SettingWhat it decides here
LanguagesWhich of the organization's languages guests can read the menu in, and the Default language they land in. A location keeps at least one.
CurrenciesWhich of the organization's currencies prices show in, and the Default currency.
DesignThe guest menu's colours at this location.
FontsThe guest menu's fonts at this location.
VAT, Service fee, Service fee appliesThe rates and whether they are included in prices — see Set VAT and the service fee.
Guest orderingWhether guests here can build an order (Guests can build an order).
Your usualsWhether returning guests see the dishes they ordered here before. It is remembered on the guest's phone only.
  • Languages and currencies narrow what the organization offers: to add one, add it to the organization first.
  • A currency is added only when every dish served here has a price in it. If one is missing, saving is refused — see Prices in several currencies.
  • Design and fonts reach guests on plans with your own brand look: Every plan. The editors are the organization's — see Make the guest menu look like your brand.
  • How orders reach your staff, how guests pay and what they can ask for are set on the location's Ordering tab — see Turn on guest ordering.

Dishes themselves — a price, a name, a photo — are changed for a location on its Overrides tab: see Change dishes for one location.
