A QR code opens the wrong menu
Scanning a code opens another menu than you expect, or a page saying the menu is unavailable: what decides which menu a code opens, and how to change it.
On this page
A QR code doesn't hold a menu. It opens a page of one location — its venue page, its default menu or one of its other menus — and the location decides what that page shows at the moment of the scan. So the fix is almost always on the location's Menus tab, not a reprint. How codes work: How QR codes work.
The code opens the default menu
A location's code for its default menu, and every table code, open whichever menu is the location's default. On the location's Menus tab, the default is marked Default.
To make another menu open, select Set as default on it; the codes already printed open it from then on. See The default menu.
Guests reach the location's other menus from the menu switcher under the venue's name — see The menu switcher.
The default menu isn't published
When the default menu is a Draft, In review or Paused, guests can't see it, so the code opens the first published menu shown at the location instead, in the order of its Menus tab. With no published menu shown there at all, the code opens a page saying Page not found.
Publish the default menu — see Publish a menu — or make a published one the default. Archiving a menu also takes it off as the default: see Archive and restore.
The default changed on a date you set
A menu can be set to become the default at a set moment. From then on, the codes open it. Until that moment, its row on the location's Menus tab shows the date. To change or cancel the switch, see Make a menu the default later.
The code was made for another page
Each location has a code for its venue page, one for its default menu, and one for every other menu it serves. A code made for the drinks menu always opens the drinks menu, and a code from another location opens that location's menus.
Scan the code and read the top of the page: it names the venue and, where the venue serves more than one menu, the menu on screen. On the QR codes page, All codes lists the codes of each location's pages; print the one for the page you want — see What a code opens and Print and place your QR codes.
The menu says it is unavailable or not served now
- This menu is unavailable, with View the current menu: the code opens a menu this location doesn't serve any more — unlinked, with its Enabled switch off, paused or not published. Serve it again, or print the code of the menu you serve now. See Hide a menu at one location.
- This menu isn't being served right now: the menu is outside its serving hours. A menu other than the default also offers View the current menu. Check its hours — see Schedule, pause and archive a menu and Schedule a menu at a location.
The code opens a page that can't be found
The address inside every code contains your organization's link and the location's link. If either changed, or the location was deleted, the codes printed before open Page not found. Print new codes — see A menu change never needs a reprint.
If guests see Temporarily unavailable instead, your subscription has ended — see After the subscription ends.
The menu opens in another language
A code made for a language opens the menu in it, but a guest who already picked a language at your venue keeps their own. Anyone can switch language on the menu. See Plain codes and extra codes and Translate a menu.
