Questions about billing
Short answers about plans, the free trial, changing or cancelling your subscription, invoices and refunds, each linked to the page that explains it.
Is there a free plan?
No. After the free trial, you choose a paid plan to keep your menus open to guests. Prices are on our pricing page, and what each plan includes on Plans.
Do I need a card for the free trial?
No. The trial starts with your first organization, and nothing is charged unless you subscribe — see The free trial.
What happens when the free trial ends?
The dashboard turns read-only for a few days, then guests see Temporarily unavailable instead of your menus until you choose a plan. Nothing you built is deleted — see When the trial ends.
Does a new organization get its own trial?
No. Each account gets one free trial, so a second organization starts without one — see Who gets a trial.
Can I pay monthly or yearly?
Either. You choose when you subscribe and can switch later, and your add-ons move to the same interval — see Subscribe or change your plan.
Can I change my plan at any time?
Yes, from the Billing page, and the new plan applies at once. Moving up, you pay for the rest of the period; moving down, what is left of the old plan is credited to your next payments — see Change your plan.
Can I add one more location without moving to a bigger plan?
Yes. Extra locations, team seats and languages are sold as add-ons on top of your plan — see Add or remove add-ons.
What happens when I reach a limit?
The button that adds one more is switched off, and the page shows how much you use and which plan has more room. See Plans and limits and Limits and usage.
How do I cancel?
On the Billing page, click Cancel subscription. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for, and you can take the cancellation back until then — see Cancel, pause or resume your subscription.
What happens to my menus if I cancel?
Nothing is deleted. Once the subscription has ended and its grace days have passed, guests see Temporarily unavailable until you subscribe again — see After the subscription ends.
Can I pause my subscription instead of cancelling?
Why does my invoice come from Paddle?
Paddle is our reseller: it takes the payment, charges the tax and issues your invoices and receipts. Your card details go to Paddle and never reach Table QR — see Payments and invoices.
Where do I find my invoices?
Under Invoices at the bottom of the Billing page — see Invoices.
Which currency am I charged in?
The currency of the country you buy from, worked out when you subscribe; taxes depend on that country too — see Currency and taxes.
Who in my team can see and change billing?
Only members whose role includes billing see the Billing page, and only some of those roles may pay or change the plan — see Roles at a glance.
